While rock has been off the main course in most countries, Australians indulged in nostalgia for a much-loved guitar band in 2014. The highest-selling album of the year looks set to come from none other than old stagers INXS, with a three year old collection of songs dating back to the 1980s. The Australia Recording Industry Association does not release its official end-of-year data until early January, but Universal has been told INXS’s The Very Best is the biggest-selling album so far in 2014, undoubtedly driven by the success of the record-breaking miniseries INXS: Never Tear Us Apart. His name is Thaynan Costa and his discipline is street skateboarding. This Red Bull feautred athlete lives in Portugal, but was originally born in Brazil in December 1994 – just weeks after the release of the INXS Greatest Hits album (1994 version). This video of Thaynan Costa skating the streets exhibiting his raw and mind-blowing talent came across our radar recently, as you might recognise the song in the clip featured this week on Thrasher Magazine.
