While rock has been off the main course in most countries, Australians indulged in nostalgia for a much-loved guitar band in 2014. The highest-selling album of the year looks set to come from none other than old stagers INXS, with a three year old collection of songs dating back to the 1980s. The INXS Never Tear Us Apart mini-series has been nominated for excellence across a broad array of categories for this year’s Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards. The award nominations include: Best Telefeature Or Miniseries Best Direction In A Television Drama Or Comedy Best Lead Actor In A Television Drama (Luke Arnold) Best Guest Or Supporting Actor In A Television Drama (Andy Ryan) Huge congratulations to all the cast and crew for the amazing production and the nominations! After successful broadcasts in Australia, New Zealand and the United States, the INXS mini series Never Tear Us Apart premiered in Latin America last night. It will run for four weeks on satellite network DIRECTV and is expected to cause the same record-buying frenzy which followed screening in Australia and New Zealand. South America was a huge market for INXS, with Argentina and Brazil ranking among their biggest bases.
